"EXPLANATION ABOUT LETTER STYLE"

Full Block Style has a formal appearance, however they can be used in informal business situations as well as formal once. All the elements in this letter are left justified. This formatting provides a crisp, modern look that many people prefer.

Semi-Block Style has a more informal appearance. All elements are left aligned, except for the beginning of each paragraph is indented. This style works well in almost all situations and is a good choice if people find themselves on the fence about which format to use.

Indented Style is similar to semi-block style, but it is more complicated than full block style and semi-block style. In indented style, new paragraphs in a piece of writing are indented. Indented style is one of the older formats for business writing currently in use, though other formats are becoming more popular.

Dear Mr. Lai,

     I am writing to request the use of your conference facilities for a seminar I’m hoping to run on December 31^st 2017. The seminar is to teach local people how to manage and save money during economic uncertainty.

      According to my estimations, I will need to be accommodated for at least 100 people. I need a microphone, speakers, and a projection system to show clips from one of my prerecorded presentations.

    Ideally, I would like to hold the seminar in the evening at 4.30 pm and it will last approximately 2 hours.
